878 Reunion 2013

So, in 2013, we've officially been out of undergrad for 8 years! HOLY COW right? Ever since graduating we have been getting together for what we call the "878 Reunions", where Amy, Mary, Sarah and I (and Elaine even though she didn't 'officially' live with us) get together and hang out for a weekend... At this point I think we've had at least four of these reunions, so we're averaging one about every two years!

This reunion we went down to Lake Gaston in Littleton, NC, where Mary's mom has a beautiful lake house. Amy, Elaine and I left from Richmond on Friday afternoon and got to Littleton around 7:30. We all had a nice taco dinner and hung out by the lake waiting for Sarah to arrive.

Around 9:30 or 10 Sarah showed up, we chatted a bit and then played a new game for me!

Mexican Train Dominos?
The thing on the right makes a train noise... it's crazy!

2AM to bed, and morning came quickly. We didn't waste much time. Had our coffee and breakfast on the dock by the lake and then got dressed to go swimming!

Amy went in the water?!?!
Mary enjoying the sun!
This is the only photo I have of Sarah!

The lake :) (Maybe Sarah is in this photo, too)

Sarah went back home Saturday afternoon to spend some time with miss Adeline (her new family addition), but we didn't stop having fun just because she left (though we did miss her)!
Afternoon fun... Amy chose to read
The rest of us played a game!
Phase 10 - I didn't win this one
Rummikub - totally won this game several times in a row... we had to rematch later in
the evening so someone (Elaine) could beat me!
Elaine - love it :)

After game time, and considering the fact that we had been "grazing" all afternoon, we decided to take an evening boat ride.

Affectionately called "the embassy" because it is SO HUGE!

One story I told my friends, was that my almost 5 year old nephew had called my cousin a douche bag at the beach a couple years ago. Since he joined preschool this year my brother and sister-in-law taught him that he was only allowed to use that word when he referred to people who litter...

In our boat ride Amy's hat fell off, and in the interest of NOT being called a douche bag, we turned around and Elaine saved it from the water! SUCCESS!!

Wet hat!

Amy REALLY liked the boat!

For so many years I've heard my friends talk about Camp Willow Run... well guess what, I didn't even know it was on Lake Gaston!!! Here it is!

Carolina sunset

Goat island - yup there are goats!

So cute! :)
This is her Titanic pose... she liked the front of the boat

After our boat ride, we arrived back to the lake around 8 or 8:30 and thought it would be a good time to make dinner... so here we are! Mary and Amy in the kitchen!

I was manning the grill!

Four cheeseburgers, coming right up!
Our spread - chips and guacamole, hummus and carrots,
fruit, fruit salad, chips and onion dip, tomatoes, lettuce...

Yummy!

After dinner, we concluded our evening playing "Sketch it!", which is a HILARIOUS game that includes drawing... I won this game, too! :)

This picture is supposed to be a picture of maggots... please note that the animal in
the bottom left corner is SUPPOSED to be a chicken... Elaine, chickens don't have four legs!
They thought my little totem pole was cute!

Who can guess what this is!
Food consumed this weekend: oreos, cheeze its, cheesy puffs (boobs), gummy bears, tortilla chips and guacamole, potato chips and onion dip, cashews, tootsie pops, slushies, carrots and hummus, freeze pops and who KNOWS what else! YUMMY!

All in all it was a FUN weekend, and I was sad to leave the ladies, but alas, I am now back in Richmond and hangin with the kitty!
